Who Is Triple B?
Dear Human,
We may come from the same planet, but I doubt our stories are alike... so, here is a little bit about myself.
I grew up in Damascus, Maryland where I lived in the same neighborhood until I was 16. The world, universe, and other cultures have always fascinated me. Ever since I was little, I've been obsessed with the idea of traveling. The first time I flew on an airplane was on a missions trip to Tanzania. I was 14 and haven't stopped since. Whether it's for a good cause, education, or pleasure, I take advantage of every travel opportunity I can. When I was 16, I moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and lived with my aunt, uncle, and two cousins. After graduating high school, then Louisiana State University (LSU), I started my professional career with an environmental consulting firm. Work has never been a new concept to me. From doing my siblings chores for extra money, to hostessing and waitressing in restaurants throughout high school and college, I have always worked.
In May 2018, I graduated from LSU with a B.A. in Mass Communications with a concentration in Advertising and a minor in Business. I was crazy enough to double major my sophomore and junior year completing nearly two full years of Mechanical Engineering.
In order to effectively justify this, I will have to take you to my past. I am 22 years young and have been working since I was 16. I started off my working career as a host in various restaurants such as Bob Evans (Damascus, MD), Portobello's (Baton Rouge, LA), Lava Cantina (Baton Rouge, LA), and Sullivan's Steakhouse (Baton Rouge, LA). I worked in the fine dining industry for 4 years where I learned the importance of having excellent customer service skills and how to truly work as one, cohesive unit with my coworkers. In addition, I learned what it means to work in a high-pressure, high-intensity environment and still meet deadlines. During my time at Octagon Media, I was the project manager, conducted research, and helped with strategy. From working at Octagon, I learned how important client relationships are and how to manage them. I presented and pitched my SWOT analysis in front of clients as well as recommended social media strategies. I also was in charge of new business development and media invoices. Now I work in consulting for an environmental firm. My job has allowed me to further the depth of my skills; learn new programs, techniques, and skills; and begin my career in business development (aka sales). I've learned about state and federal regulations and how important they are to everyday life, environmental impacts of industrial operations, how industrial companies function, and most importantly, how to successfully sell services to a diverse group of professionals.
In my career at LSU, I was lucky enough to be Vice President of LSU's student chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) where I embraced all networking opportunities within reach. I helped organize meetings, acquire guest speakers, as well as plan a fall trip to tour agencies in New York City. I am extremely organized, detail-oriented, and punctual. I understand that nothing can effectively and efficiently come to fruition without exceptional communication skills, excellent time manage, and humble teamwork. I also worked in the ITS (information technology services) department for six months where I learned technology troubleshooting (specific to VOIP phones). I was forward-thinking enough to decide the cost of studying abroad was worth the hefty paycheck. In 2017, I spent my summer traveling throughout Germany learning German and Mechanical Engineering. This experience equipped me with more than I could have ever imagined. Learning how a progressive, extremely eco-friendly, engineering-based society functions and why they function the way they do is something I didn’t expect to take away so immensely. On-top of that, (and all the culture shock) I learned my real passions in life and what I really care about. I learned that advertising and engineering really aren’t such polar opposites that some people portray them to be. I learned that I truly care about my personal environmental and social impacts and how I can tweak them for the greater good. My goal is to translate everything I learned from this experience into my personal and working life.
Now you know part of my story, my experience, and what I’m interested in. If the stars are aligned and we would be a good fit, please touch base with me!
